Here are the 4th and 5th installments of Dear Muse. The usual attempt at writing tips and story ideas, as well as pretty much everything I know about making your blog more popular. Also Pottermore, Middlemarch, and a giant Hershey's bar.
Two more things: first, in terms of making your blog more popular and getting followers and stuff, I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who do follow this blog, or read or comment or anything. Your support means the world, and I totally mean that. So thanks.
And second, is it bothersome for me to put these videos up here on the blog? My hope is for them to be as entertaining, enlightening and profound as my usual blog posts (haha), but if it is something you'd rather I not do, don't be afraid to let me know. They won't be coming up too often either, so don't worry. Maybe every two weeks or so...we'll see.

Hey! I want some Hershey-soraus Rex. Hope that was a relative comment. Love your Dear Muse Videos.
I like your v-log and your special effects sounds. It reminds me of Cramer on Mad Money.
I thought I was following you, but I wasn't. Fixed now, but I'm sorry I just outdated the content on your vlog by one follower!
I really enjoy the vlogs, they make me smile and I feel like I'm getting to know you better.
I wrote about Vlogs on my Monday post. Yours were very well done and the first one had excellent tips on it. However, as so many commenters pointed out to me on my post, the Vlogs can take a lot of time to watch so I might tend to avoid them if they were too long. Yours do have the plus of being entering and well put together. Not something I would probably have time to watch everyday, but I'd watch them when came upon them.
Stay creative--you're doing a great job!

Tossing It Out
Cross blogging and cross linking are good tools. They may not give you direct followers, but they will give you hits. I have a dozen followers but I am getting around 50 views a day in the stats from all over the world. Google tells you where they come from and its not other bloggers. Its the link to the blog from support forums, game forums, facebook etc. My little ebook conversion guide is generating a good 75% of the traffic to my blog.
I don't update my blog every day, I keep it to just twice a week to avoid spamming but my dozen followers do not equal 50 views a day for two posts a week.
I agree on the content. I follow a few people because of the comments they posted on other blogs. Turns out their blog are nothing but book reviews. Like 1-5 a day. So when I sit down after four days they have like 15 new posts and I just skip right over it.
Vblogs are fine, Keep them short, I would not exceed 3 minutes in any one. Your intro is good and short at 10 seconds but you might try even a shorter one like 8 seconds, people with 15-30 second intros suck. Often times people will view one or all of them when they find them. When you have 20 of them that turns into 200 seconds of intro and it will turn people away.
I don't think it's "bothersome" -
: )
Lots of blogs post videos.
(I can't see your videos because only have internet access at work, and someone at the co. has blocked You Tube, many photos, and my personal e-mail. Feels intrusive and punitive. Sad about that. But your blog is happy -- thanks
I see my blog as a way to improve my writing with feedback. That is what blogging means to me. But I realize that I am motivated and moved in that direction. Vlog away, if it meets your creative development.
Awesome vlog! Commenting is such a great way to get followers. In the blogging world, you get in what you put out, and when you comment and follow, others comment and follow back. :)
Good pointers. Your vlogs made me smile. I visit blogs and comment after work and on weekends. Sometimes I'm so wiped out from my job that I'm afraid to comment (I fear posting something stupid). Yikes!
Yeah I also want to comment that I generally enjoy vlogs okay, but sometimes my computer doesn't like YouTube and it's not worth fiddling with it when I'm going through my rss reader updates. So I'd say it's only bothersome when people do solely vlogs every day with no other content. That's the only time it really annoys me.
Thank you guys so much for your tips and support :) It makes all the difference.
Sarah
